TIPS ON THE CARE OF CYCLAMEN Cyclamen with proper care can last 2 -3 months in the house. It requires bright indirect light, the coolest room in the house ( 55-65 degrees) and high humidity. Keep it away from heating vents. The corm ( tuber ) when planted is buried 1/2" in the soil. Do not pour water directly on the tuber as this can cause rot. Nevertheless, even moisture is essential, therefore, water from the bottom by placing the pot in a water-filled bowl or water on the side of the pot avoiding the tuber and leaves. Be sure to drain off all excess water. Not enough water will cause floppy, soft leaves. Feed your Cyclamen with a well balanced liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks. Snap off faded flowers along with the stem by twisting the stem at the base of the corm and pulling it sharply. Also remove yellowed or damaged leaves. Yellow foliage can indicate too much heat and dry air.
